![]() The fascia looks to be rendered over, missing or hidden, there is no soffit overhang so water will be running down the walls and finding it’s way in through the cracks, there will very likely be leaks at the abutment with next door as the lead seems missing, rendered over of non existent, similar with the porch roof, there may be soakers in there but it’s probable water is leaking through. The render looks shot, big cracks across it and in conjunction with the gypsum based plaster that is throughout the inside of the house will be trapping moisture within the walls which is giving the assumption that it’s rising damp. The ground floor of the house is partly subterranean, there is always (and has always) going to be damp there unless the ground level is lowered, all concrete and impermeable surfaces removed and existing drainage checked, renewed and utilised properly, not just by banging all the waste and rainwater pipes from the building into the same combined system. Can’t mechanically fix skirting boards(!)as it voids the ‘warranty’, what complete shat. ![]() Utter, utter profiteering scum of the earth. ![]() Those damp ‘experts’ should be tarred, feathered, then executed immediately by setting on fire. I have on several occasions known of damp proofing works to fail and had damp proofing companies then be unwilling to want to admit failure and carry out the required rectifications. As others here have mentioned, i would also suggest to take professional advice to establish the full extent of the seemingly numerous problems which should allow you to make an informed judgement on how you will need to proceed. (allowing the 25mm per month wall thickness drying out criteria damp companies use). ![]() In this case I would expect to just see small circular water and salt staining rather than the extensive damp evident. I think they are suggesting that the repastering (render and skim coat) which I expect was carried out with the added salt inhibitors after dpc Installation by the same contractor (or subcontractor) has been breached by drilling to install the skirting boards. To cover just one of the issues raised, as buildingmad mentioned, skirting bridging the dpc is a strange claim they are making. ![]()
